Musician, Gaelynn Lea to Perform at Ikouii Book Launch
The Ikouii Creative is excited to announce Gaelynn Lea Tressler, an American folk singer, violinist, public speaker and disability advocate will be performing live during the Virtual Book Signing & Reading of the Ikouii Book, INSIDE THEIR STUDIO on Sunday, August 2nd at 3PM EST. Gaelynn is one of the featured artists in the first installment of the Ikouii Book Project, INSIDE THEIR STUDIO.
Gaelynn Lea won NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Contest in 2016, and she’s been on the road ever since playing her unique mix of haunting original songs and traditional fiddle tunes. “Velvet Underground meets Little House on the Prairie.” (Jeremy Ylvisaker)
In addition to performing and recording, Gaelynn also does speaking engagements about disability rights, finding inner freedom, and the power of music. Gaelynn has a congenital disability called Osteogenesis Imperfecta, or Brittle Bones Disease. In recent years, she has used her music as a platform to advocate for people with disabilities and to promote positive social change.
