IKOUII OPEN: Collective Impact

ATLANTA, GA (May 29, 2020) – The Ikouii Creative presents the 2nd annual Ikouii Open, titled Collective Impact. The virtual exhibition is a collection of artworks created by both disabled and non-disabled artists across the globe. The Collective Impact responds to the question of how a collective voice provokes change.

Collective Impact opens virtually to the public on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 1pm EST via Ikouii.com with Artist Talks streaming live on the Ikouii Facebook Page. The Artist Talks will be hosted by Nupur Sachdeva, International Artist Liaison of The Ikouii Creative. All live events will be presented with ASL/American Sign Language Interpreter to provide access for deaf and hard of hearing artists and audiences.

Exhibiting Artists include: Brittany Castle (New Jersey), Jaejoon Jang (New York), Stephen Proski (Missouri), Warner Ball (Michigan), AJ Schnettler (California), Carina Earl (North Carolina), Hau Yi Lee (Hong Kong), Erhan US (Turkey), Michael Garda (New York), Ellen Mansfield (Maryland), Labdhi Shah (India), Alyssa Herge (United Kingdom), Alan Hopwood (United Kingdom), Zachariah Fenn (Australia), Matt Elliott (Australia), Luke Abdallah (Australia), Gwendolyn Anne Davies (New York), Loraine Klaiber (Netherlands).

The exhibition is curated by Aleatha Lindsay, Founder and Curator at The Ikouii Creative. “This exhibition is the most diverse we have done at Ikouii, with different perspectives offered in a wide range of mediums, disciplines, and genres from various walks of life and abilities” Says curator, Aleatha Lindsay.

Ikouii Open: Collective Impact will run till September 6, 2020. All artwork on view is for sale and available for purchase via ikouii.com.

The Ikouii Open is an annual virtual group art exhibition with both disabled and non-disabled artists. Artists who practice in a variety of mediums or discipline at any stage in their art career are encouraged to submit work in response to a disability-centered theme. The goal of the open is to activate social movements, educate, inspire, and evoke change within the arts and disability communities.

The Ikouii Creative is a disability-led organization based in Atlanta, Georgia USA committed to providing opportunities and support for artists with disabilities as well as transforming cultural institutions into an engaging and meaningful space for all visitors of various disabilities.
